Project 1: Tackling the beast!

I finally finished my first project of the year, I started it like the week after Christmas and it took an entire week and three coats of blue paint later and here she is:

Justin and I bought this puppy off of Craigslist for a whopping $70 about a year ago and always had intentions of painting it. I just never knew what color, finally on a whim I just picked out a color I loved. I have always had red and yellow as the main colors in my home and am now slowly trying to incorporate blue into the mix. My goal for the year is to tackle one project a month for the entire year and start giving our new home some personality. My next project is to upholster two chairs I found on craigslist for dirt cheap. So here is my dilemma, like I mentioned I already have some red and yellow going on and I'm really trying to stay away from a circus theme here but to be honest, it's starting to feel that way with all of these colors going on. I went to a few fabric stores and found some different fabrics that I love, I also plan on making curtains later and want the fabrics to coordinate but not overpower each other. So here are the fabrics I found, I'm just having the hardest time making a decision, I need some opinions...

I love how your cabinet turned out. You're so talented and creative. I really like the red fabric and the blue one with the brown birds. Anything would look cute in your house though.

Love love love your cabinet! I like fabrics 2 and 5. Both of those can incorporate so many other colors in them. I would love to see the finished project to!. I can't wait for you to see what I made for you! It will go super cute on your cabinet or wherever else you put it.

2 and 3 have my vote for sure. You have a lot of nuetrals: black and brown. I think those pops of color would not be too much and would look awesome with your tv cabinet. You are super creative and I have no doubt whatever you choose will be fabulous!

I definitely agree with you guys on 2! I'm almost positive I want to recover the chairs in that fabric! Also, I'm so glad you like number 3 Bekah! I saw a similar fabric used as window treatments in an Anthropologie catalog and thought it was so cute and eclectic! Do you think it's too much yellow though? The blue and red bird/deer fabric will have to be used somewhere too, it's too cute not to! Maybe some accent pillows??
