This year we allowed the kids to have a little say in their costumes, as opposed to last year when we forced Hudson into a speedo and called him Michael Phelps. So, Hudson went with the generic Batman (the "real" Batman) costume, Swayzie picked out a witch costume, and Harbor actually had no say in her Chickie outfit. The two oldest kids loved their outfits, but we got the feeling that Harbor (who thinks that she's actually 5 or 6) felt a bit humbled when she looked in the mirror and saw the yellow chicken head staring back at her. If you notice in the pictures, she is never completely satisfied with her look. She definitely wanted to be something more important than a Chickie, maybe next year when she's 2 we'll bump her up to Princess Aurora or something. We took the kids around our neighborhood and into a couple of haunted garages. The kids thought that they were so tough, but ended up screaming for mercy as soon as they heard the creepy Halloween music. Hudson struggled once his candy bag reached 5 lbs. and kept begging to go home, but Swayzie remained focused and kept the family on track throughout the night. All things held equal, the kids had a blast trick-or-treating and scored all types of chocolate/candy that was immediately scanned and tested by mom and dad as soon as we got home.

4 gave their two cents:
I love Swayzie's nails. They looked so cute. Hopefully, Sofia can go treat or tricking with them next year!
Too cute! I love the costumes!
Hey guys -
I love the costumes! How are you both? I heard that you might be up here for thanksgiving in a few weeks. First, I hope we can see you at some point - but second, Summer and I aren't using our two football tickets for the BYU v. Utah game that Saturday after Thanksgiving and wondered if you and/or Stewart wanted them. Its here in Provo. Just let me know sometime. Take care. -David

I miss my grandkids during Halloween time! They look so cute and you are right on the money about Harbor--she definitely was disappointed in the costume choice! She looked so cute though, and she'll be a big three year old next year and I'm sure she'll have a say in what she wants to be. Love all of you.
