South Mountain Disaster

Saturday Morning, Justin and I decided to hike South Mountain. We got Justin's Mom to watch the kids for us while we went. It was the first time either of us had ever hiked the mountain. It was somewhat of a strenuous workout, considering all of the rocks and how steep some of the areas were. We decided to try out the Mormon Loop trail and jogged most of the way up. On the way down, Justin and I thought it would be fun to race down the mountain. Unfortunately I didn't play soccer for 23 years so my feet aren't quite as swift as his are. So about half way down the mountain, I of course was leading and thinking I was pretty sweet when I totally slipped and skidded face first down the mountain. I am now covered chest to toe in road rash, and let me tell you, trying to type with a broken finger isn't working out so well for me. It definitely humbled me down quite a bit, Justin got a pretty good laugh along with the other hikers that witnessed the scene! The good thing is, I only had to walk half way down the mountain crippled. Can't say that this was one of my proudest moments, that's for sure!
