Happy Birthday Grayson!

Grayson Would have been twenty years old today, it's crazy to think of the life he may have lived, the things he would have accomplished and the many lives he would have touched because of his sweet spirit and love for life. I can say for sure he lived his life to the fullest, and enjoyed every ounce of it!
I think this year has been the hardest for me, I find myself constantly thinking of him. I see so much of him in Hudson, they are so similar in countless ways, and the fact that Hudson is nearly the exact same age that he was when he passed away makes my heart ache. I can't imagine loosing him, I don't know how my parents ever survived that trial.
Swayzie and Hudson have much of the same relationship that Grayson and I shared. I was just three years older than Grayson and was six when he died. When I watch the two of them play together it floods my mind with memories I had with him that I had nearly forgotten. I feel so blessed to still be able to remember so much of him. I can remember his voice, his happy spirit and his infamous mischievous smile. The kid was always up to something, whether it was waking up at the crack of dawn, open the garage (while everyone was still sound asleep) to chase the garbage man down the street in his underware, on his bike and with his batman cape tied around his neck. My poor Mother, can you imagine the panic?? I remember he was always running around in that cape and his cowboy boots, the kid was a riot!! He would heard up the neighbor kids and round up all the wagons he could get his hands on, then tie them all together with rope and pull the train of kids and wagons with his bike. This is something I can totally picture Hudson doing, they are so similar. He was outside ALL of the time getting into whatever he could find. Whether it was finding the neighbors tools to build or "fix" something or taking another neighbors bricks to build a tower (something I caught Hudson doing on Saturday). The kid was always up to something, and we were all so drawn to him, even though he was so young we were all so curious as to what he would possibly come up with next!
One particular memory that always brings me peace of mind, was a Saturday morning, shortly before his death, we had gone out to the backyard to jump on the trampoline which was usually a morning ritual. We were jumping as high as we could and I had mentioned that I could jump so high I could touch the clouds. He replied, I'm jumping so high I can see heaven, and then said, I'm going to live in heaven when I am three years old. I stopped, puzzled, and said how do you know? He told me he had a dream, and Heavenly Father came to him and told him that he wanted him to live with Him in Heaven and that he had special work he needed him to do there. Of course I didn't believe him at the time, but every time I recall that memory I can still remember the excitement and the enthusiasm in his voice, it was like he had no fear at all. He knew exactly where he was going, and what the Lord had in store for him. I know he is doing AMAZing work on the other side!! Happy Birthday Grayson, we LOVE you!!

That is so neat that your brother can be remembered through your son. That will be a sweet thing for Hudson to know when he gets older.

I can't belive he would of turned 20!! I think of him often and especially on his b-day, I was baptized on his 8th b-day and that has always been special to me. Those are great memories to remember, he was such a fun little boy. Now that I'm a parent, I can't even imagine the heart ache and pain your parents went through, the thought alone makes me sick!! Thanks for writing about him, it was fun to look back!! On a lighter note, let's get together and play!!
