So much for trying to enter into the National Gingerbread House competition. Justin's Hulk sized muscles ruined any chance we had of creating a masterpiece. While he was putting together the frame, he happened to snap the front entrance entirely, therefore creating a bit of an obstacle in keeping it all connected. Swayzie thought up the brilliant idea to create a gingerbread hut, which worked out perfectly. Each child picked a side to have all to themselves and decorated it to their liking. Once everyone had finished we put it all together and created the gingerbread hut. Swayzie and Hudson worked carefully to create the most appetizing house ever created, while Harbor enjoyed the green frosting straight from the bag. We have been teasing her ever since that she is turning into the Grinch because it stained her fingers and mouth green. We had so much fun adjusting it to fit our own style, I think we'll try this technique out every year and maybe forgo the ready-to-assemble box kit.
